A hearty chunk of the Sneakers & Soul crew has recently collaborated on a new project that they'd like to share. This one is much shorter but it packs the same charm and wit that we fell in love with during Sneakers & Soul. "A Short Love Story" was written and directed by S&S helmsman Jonathan Zelenak and he was once again joined in the editing room by the other half of No Pants Productions, Marty Buccafusco.

Brighten up the next few minutes of you day by taking a look at this lovely short that was recently featured in the Cape May Film Festival. Enjoy!

In the summer of 2008, a small band of independent filmmakers gathered in the beautiful town of Cape May, New Jersey. For two weeks, they began principal photography on Sneakers & Soul. Yesterday, those filmmakers were told that this film would sceen at the Cape May New Jersey State Film Festival!

That's right, we'll be bringing the finished film back to the first town that witnessed it's production. The festival takes place from October 22nd to 24th at the historic hotel, The Chalfonte. The hits keep on coming and this one is a big one for many of the S&S family. Sneakers & Soul has been selected to screen at the Williamsburg International Film Festival from September 23 - 26. This marks the NYC debut of our film and we are so excited to be screening it in our own backyard. WILLiFEST is a film and music festival, so S&S is a perfect fit.

We expect to see an amazing turnout for this event, so stay tuned for screening and ticket info, as seats may fill up quickly. Like Johnny-boy and Ace, it's taken us a while to get to New York, but joining the WILLiFEST roster is most definitely worth the wait.

Sneakers & Soul has made its world premiere and the results have been extraordinarly positive. Both screenings at the Tallahassee Film Festival saw a packed theater and a wonderful ovation when the credits rolled. One quick announcement! If you're in the NYC area and need your fix of Baroque Folk music (or you're just looking for an ear-ticklin' good time), check out S&S Composer Mathias Tjønn at 10pm on Thursday, November 19 at Pete's Candy Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He'll be joined by "bass playing fiend Kendall Eddy" and there's no cover. Mathias' performances are always a lot of fun and well-attended, so get there early and maybe he'll show you his SpongeBob slippers.

S&S Trivia: It was at Pete's Candy Store on April 3rd, 2009, that Jonathan and Marty first witnessed the musical splendor of Mathias' live performance. He was unaware of our attendace, but afterwards we introduced ourselves and the rest, as they say, is history...

Today is the official re-launch of SneakersAndSoul.com and there's plenty to enjoy. The first official trailer is now complete! Big thanks to Sean Borjes for his editing contribution and also to Brooke Waggoner and Lindsay Kattfor the beautiful music. We've also established our presence on all of your favorite social networking sites. You can now keep track of all the S&S developments on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Friend us, follow us and spread the love! At MySpace, you can listen to some tracks from the artists who contributed their music to the film including a surprise original song from one of our stars, Marie Cecile Anderson.

In addition to revamping the website, we've also submitted the movie to numerous film festivals in the past few weeks. We're optimistic that this film will begin to get some high profile exposure soon, so this is an exciting time in the life of Sneakers & Soul. The submission expenses are beginning to taken a toll on our very small budget, so we've decided to offer our fans the opportunity to support the festival run by partnering with us in the submission process.

Festivals charge anywhere from $20 to $200 just to submit a film for consideration, so we're calling on our fans to support the dream by sponsoring our festival entries. You can learn more about our mission and the festival by visiting our Festivals page. Please give it a look and see if there's anything you can do to contribute.

Finally, if you join our group on Facebook, you can see some wonderful photos from the first private screening event. Our buddy, Ben Johnson was kind enough to contribute his photography skills, so thanks big time, Ben!

We are proud to announce that on August 29th, Sneakers & Soul was finally introduced to our closest family, friends, crew and colleagues at a private test screening held at the Visual Arts Theater in Manhattan. The evening was an enormous success - it was a full house and there was plenty of love and support before and after the film. We'd like to thank all those who came out to see the film and we sincerely appreciate all the feedback that's come our way. Special thanks to Gene Stavis, Tom Arnold, Jerry & Regina Buccafusco and the LaMorte family for helping make the night a reality.

In other news, we are prepping a submission package for the folks at the Sundance Film Festival. This deadline has been in our sights for a year now and the time has finally come to put this film in the hands of the judges. Wish us luck as we begin the long and anxiety-ridden process of the festival circuit. Check back often for more news as it's available.

As you may have noticed, we haven't updated this page lately. July has been an insanely busy month for Sneakers & Soul, but we've come a long way and the end is finally in sight. Here are a couple updates:

A wonderful collection of musicians have agreed to contribute music to the film. Head over to the Music page and check them out. There's plenty to read and you'll find links to all of their pages. Give these artists a listen and pass their names along to your friends.

We've also been hard at work with our Sound Designer, Pete Romano and his gang of dialogue editors, sound editors and foley artists. They're all doing a great job and their expertise and creative input is bringing this film to another level.
